Is Anyone Worthy?
John's vision of the Lamb of God in Revelation 5 gives hope to the hearts of God's people that his redemptive plans for the world will be brought to an indescribably joyful conclusion that will elicit the worship and rejoicing of God's people forever.
As It Is In Heaven
This exposition will seek to unpack the significance of the vision of heaven that Jesus gives to John in Revelation 4; what the glory of heaven is and how it will eventually be brought to the earth.
Christ-less Christianity
This exposition will focus on the sobering warning and gracious invitation Jesus gives to the self-sufficient 'Christians' in the city of Laodicea, in which Christians are warned of the danger of Christless Christianity and invited to repent of it eagerly.
Strong Encouragements for Weak Churches
Christ's letter to the church in Philadelphia encourages weak but faithful Christians and churches to an enduring faithfulness in trials, knowing that the reward we will receive when Christ returns will be great.
A Name Worth Having
In the letter to the church in Sardis, Jesus confronts a church that has become indistinguishable from the world around them. This exposition will focus on the need to concern ourselves more with pleasing Christ than with pleasing men.
Love That Lacks a Backbone
Christ's letter to the church in Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29) highlights the need for loving and gracious churches to grow in courage as they grow in and preserve internal purity.
Confronting Spiritual Compromise
Christ's letter to the church in Pergamum highlights the urgency of confronting spiritual compromise in the church. This exposition will focus on the reasons for this urgency and what we must do to deal with compromise in the church rightly.
How the Church Should Think About Persecution
In his second letter to seven churches in ancient Asia Minor, Jesus addresses the way all his churches should think about persecution.
The Problem of Loveless Orthodoxy
Christ's first letter to the seven churches exposes the problem of loveless orthodoxy. This exposition will focus on the seriousness of this sin and what Christians can do if they believe they have become guilty of it.
Fearing Jesus
John's reaction to Jesus and the assurance Jesus gives to John in Revelation 1:17-20 teaches us a lot about the fear of the Lord and the way we should think of our many anxieties. This exposition will explore the relationship between Jesus and our fears.
The Builder and Preserver of the Church
This exposition focuses on Christ's work in the church as our exalted priest, king, and judge as the reason for optimism about the church and its future.
Reasons for Joy in Times of Trouble
This exposition will show how the doxology, promise, and declaration of Revelation 1:5-8 points to reasons Christians have for great rejoicing even in times of trouble.
What Disheartened Christians Need
This exposition of the Trinitarian blessing of Revelation 1:4-5 will seek to show that God's grace and peace is what every Christian needs the most in disheartening circumstances.
Revelation is for Today
This exposition will show the modern day relevance of the book of Revelation from the mention of the 7 churches in Revelation 1:4.
The Blessing of the Book of Revelation
This exposition kicks off a new sermon series in the book of Revelation. We'll explore the purpose of the book and the blessing God offers his people in it.
To the Comfortable Christ-less Church
In this final sermon on the 7 letters of Christ to his churches in Revelation 2-3, we'll seek to hear what the Spirit says to us as he speaks to the comfortable and Christ-less church of Laodicea in Revelation 3:14-22. What sort of church keeps Jesus on the outside looking in (see v. 20)?
To the Weak Beloved Church
The sixth letter of Christ to his churches in Revelation 2-3 is the most encouraging letter by far. In it, Christ encourages and expresses his love for the weak but faithful church of ancient Philadelphia. In this sermon, we will explore what can learn from the way Christ speaks to this church in Revelation 3:7-13, and how we can become more like this church.
To the Vibrant Lifeless Church
In this sermon, we'll dig into the sobering words of Christ to a church that looks very alive on the outside, but is very much dead on the inside. Revelation 3:1-6 is a letter to a vibrant [but] lifeless church, with convicting words that every Christian needs to hear.
To the Loving Undiscerning Church
Returning back to our series of expositions through Christ's letters to his churches in Revelation 2 & 3, we'll dig into Jesus' words to the loving but alarmingly undiscerning church in Thyatira.
To the Courageous Compromising Church
In Christ's third letter to the churches of Revelation 2-3, we will seek to hear and learn from what the Spirit says to the courageous (yet) compromising church in Pergamum (Revelation 2:12-17). What can we learn from a church that was standing strong against the external pressures of the culture, while caving into the internal pressures of sin and temptation? We'll explore that in this sermon.
