Sunday School - 01/16/2022 - How to Study the Bible

In this exposition of Genesis, we'll consider the identity of the serpent who shows up to lead mankind into sin in Genesis 3:1-5, as well as the characteristics of his temptation, so that we might guard ourselves from his schemes today.

No one drifts into holiness. Grace-driven effort is required for us to grow spiritually. In this sermon, we will consider the goodness of urgently seeking to grow in our love for one another in the coming year.

As we bring 2021 to a close as a church family, we're going to look back and reflect on some of the ways the Lord has shown his faithfulness to us throughout the past year. To help us identify Christ's faithfulness in places we might not normally see it, we'll spend a little time in John 11:1-6, where the faithful love of Jesus is shown in his delay in answering an urgent prayer.

In this Christmas Eve exposition, we'll turn to the "Protoevangelium" - the first proclamation of the Gospel in the Bible - showing how the purpose of Christ's coming into the world was and is to slay a great and powerful dragon.

In this exposition of Genesis 3:1-24, we will look at 5 fundamental reasons the world we live in is so broken, and why we are in such desperate need of a Savior.

We'll come back in this sermon one more time to the text of Genesis 2:18-25 to explore some of the main practical implications of it. Our aim will be to see the implications of this passage upon our relationships in general, our genders, and upon marriage.
